Frequently Asked Questions

  • You can totally get any bikini wax while on your period! (And yes, it's a super common occurrence) Please be aware that due to hormones, your service may be more uncomfortable during this time. Just make sure you have a fresh tampon in for sanitary purposes, and we're happy to wax away!

  • No. Having another person in the room can be distracting for the client and for the esti, and can make an already nervous client more nervous. It is important for us to be able to focus on educating our clients about what we are doing and why, plus proper aftercare instructions, all while providing the highest quality service possible, and we just can’t do that while entertaining multiple people. This policy is based on our experience - we promise we're not just antisocial!

    Exceptions: a parent or legal guardian will be allowed in the room if the client is under 18. A nurse or caretaker will be allowed in the room if medically necessary.

  • This machine sends a small electric current through the attached glass electrode, which is filled with argon gas, and produces ozone (basically super enriched oxygen) when active. After waxing, the esti skates the electrode across the area to be treated and it gently tingles and zaps, over-oxygenating the area, which kills off any present bacteria. This treatment is ideal for preventing ingrowns and keeping your freshly waxed and open pores clean. It may initially sound scary, but it is a fan favorite and is the ultimate secret weapon against ingrown hairs.

  • Tinting is a semi-permanent dye is applied to the brows or lashes to make them appear darker, fuller, and more defined. It’s Perfect for those who have sparse or light brows and want to ditch the eyebrow pencil or mascara.

  • A brow or lash tint generally lasts between three and six weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle and how well you care for them afterward.

  • Brow lamination is a treatment that smooths, straightens, and sets brow hairs in place to create a fuller, more uniform shape that lasts for several weeks.

  • A brow lamination typically lasts for six to eight weeks, with the look gradually softening as your natural brow hairs grow out.

  • Everyone is a little different - age, hormone levels, medications, and genetics all play a part in how quickly your hair grows back. However, your waxing results depend mostly on how long you have been waxing, how many active hair follicles you have, the texture of your hair and how fast it grows, your diligence with before + after care, which wax service you are receiving, and whether or not you’re shaving in between. Hair regrowth patterns are cyclical, and you will notice improvement in the longevity of your results as you become more consistent with your waxing services and home care regimen.

    When booking a 2nd or 3rd trimester bikini wax, please let us know so we can be sure to book additional time for your appointment to ensure your comfort.

  • This is always a possibility. If you have a tendency towards ingrown hairs and irritation from shaving, you are more likely to have the same reactions from waxing, although dramatically decreased. To minimize skin reactions, it is a MUST to follow proper home care instructions and get waxed on a regular schedule. Please inform your esti prior to any service if you have started any medications or products since your last wax, as they may be contraindicated for waxing, or if you have any allergies to common skin care ingredients like tea tree or witch hazel, as these are present in several products we use and may cause an immediate physical skin reaction.

  • No. Shaving between services negates all that is gained from waxing, and can further irritate the skin and follicles, which causes ingrown hairs. Plus, it essentially makes your next wax feel like the first time all over again, and no one wants that.

  • Gotta be honest here - waxing can be uncomfortable. Removing whole sections of hair out of your skin, roots and all? Not exactly a great feeling. Everyone has a different scale for pain tolerance. Some may find it particularly unpleasant while others may be able to chat through the whole service like nothing is happening. Just keep in mind, the pain is immediate and somewhat intense, but subsides pretty quickly. It is worth it!

  • Absolutely. Home care products used in a regular routine is imperative to ensure the best waxing results. Not doing anything at all to care for your skin between waxing appointments is the equivalent of not brushing or flossing between dental cleanings. Exfoliate. Moisturize. Treat for ingrowns. Drink more water. We promise, future you will thank today you for upping your home care game.

  • After waxing, the esti glides these chilly, refrigerated glass orbs over your freshly waxed skin to reduce redness and inflammation, and to tighten up the pores to help prevent bacteria from entering. This gives you an extra safeguard against potential whiteheads while calming your skin. It's like an ice cube on a hot day, but less frozen, and with no drippy mess - plus bonus whitehead prevention. Simple, massively effective, and so nice in the summer!​

  • Yes! it is very common for moms-to-be to get waxed (especially bikini services) throughout their pregnancy. Please keep in mind that your skin is almost guaranteed to be more sensitive due to all the hormonal and physical body changes pregnancy brings - but if you're willing to sit through it, we're willing to wax it!

We totally get that life happens—but to keep things running smoothly around here, we’ve got a few simple policies in place. These help us respect everyone’s time (yours and ours!) and make sure we can fit in as many of you lovely humans as possible. Thanks for being cool about it—we seriously appreciate your support and understanding so we can keep doing what we love: making you feel smooth, confident, and cared for.

  • Clients who arrive more than 7 minutes past their scheduled start time may be asked to reschedule.

    For longer appointments or multiple services, we may be able to accommodate partial services in the remaining time; however, that is up to the esthetician’s schedule and discretion.

    All of our appointments are booked for the exact amount of time needed. This scheduling method ensures we can still deliver the best quality of service while offering plenty of appointment times.

    Running late?  

    Please contact your esthetician as soon as you know you’ll be late, and we’ll see what we can do to work with you for that day.

  • Any appointments canceled within 12 hours of the start time will incur a cancellation fee of 20% of the full total service price.

    Remedy Wax Studio has a strict (and generous, if we do say so ourselves) 12-hour cancellation policy.

  • Any missed appointments (no-shows) will incur a fee of 50% of the full total service price.

    When appointments are booked and clients don’t show up, it not only impacts our schedule but also takes away the opportunity for someone else to book that time. Please be courteous and respectful of our time—we truly appreciate it.

  • All fees must be paid in full (payable online) before any future appointments can be booked.

    We know these policies and fees can be a bit of a bummer, but they help us ensure we’re able to serve as many of you sweet humans as possible. When appointments are held until the last minute—or held and unused—it limits our ability to accommodate all of our clients.
